ENThis is an original study of business/applied ethics, which reflects scientific investigations into morality, introduces the notions of "effective performance", creation of "good life" norms - ethical constructing, modelling, organizing - and practical issues related to them. Here business ethics is presented as a discipline of management, and codes of conduct as a means to improve any business activity, instruments to form organization culture. This is a version of interdisciplinary non-doctrinal ethics which is not known in Lithuanian public discourse yet, and which has crystallized only in recent decades with a focus on the practice of social professional activity of organizations. Today it gives hope to harmonize civilization achievements and eternal humanistic values. The study reflects attempts to link philosophical reflections on morality with regularities of practical activities, ethics with behaviour technologies, gives methodological reasoning of business ethics, analyses the development of empirical ethics, paradigm of descriptive discourse ethics, models of post-modern constructive ethical decision-making and methods of their application as well as possibilities of their realization in different spheres of Lithuanian business life. The book discusses how to develop consensualcommunicative virtues by using ethics codes as instruments of strategic management at micro and macro (state politics) level and in this way optimise and humanize various spheres of business/social activities.The book acquaint with the contemporary process of ethics institutionalisation, specific of applied ethics, multidisciplinary approach to morality, formation of managed ethics, processes of morality subjectivization (stimulation of reflective morality) and ethics objectivization.
