ENThe short review of the ‘cultural dressing’ of the eastern Baltic region presented here gives only very general directions for understanding the network of communication during the Roman and Migration Periods. The West Balt area and its archaeological inheritance may seem very distinct, with a lack of ‘impressions from outside’, only at first sight. A closer look at this material provides a rich picture of interactions between ‘local’ and ‘foreign’ phenomena, ways of adopting cultural ideas, and the ability to spread them further.
