Summary / Abstract:

LTKarjeros sprendimas – vienas rimčiausių žmogaus gyvenimo kokybei įtakos turinčių sprendimų. Jis turi būti pagrįstas ir pamatuotas, ypač kai merginos renkasi stereotipiškai vyriškas, o vyrai – stereotipiškai moteriškas profesijas. Straipsnyje ieškoma atsakymo į tokius klausimus: ar žmogaus karjeros sprendimo pagrįstumui turi įtakos lytis? Kas skatina merginas rinktis fizikos, informatikos ir mechanikos studijas? Ar jų sprendimas labiau atsitiktinis nei šias stereotipiškai vyriškas studijas besirenkančių vaikinių? Straipsnyje pristatoma tyrimo, realizuoto vykdant Lietuvos valstybinio mokslo ir studijų fondo finansuojamą projektą „Jaunų moterų įgalinimas profesinei karjerai universitetinėse technologijos ir fizinių mokslų studijose Lietuvoje“ (VU KHF), dalis. Anketinėje apklausoje dalyvavo 481 respondentai, studijuojantys fiziką, informatiką ir mechaniką ir atstovaujantys 5 mūsų šalies universitetams. Straipsnyje analizuojami kiekybiniai ir kokybiniai duomenys, atskleidžiantys studijų srities pasirinkimo motyvus, respondentų požiūrį į savų savybių ir gebėjimų bei keliamų reikalavimų atitikimą pasirinktoje srityje, taip pat respondentų savijauta pasirinktoje studijų srityje. ENA career-related decision is one of the most important decisions influencing the quality of life. It must be reasonable and measured, especially in cases when young women choose stereotypically considered male professions, and men, stereotypically considered female professions. The article is searching for answers to the following questions: does gender influence the validity of career-related decisions? What motivates young women to choose physics, computer science and mechanics studies? Is their decision more accidental than that of young men choosing stereotypically male studies? The article presents part of a research carried out through the implementation of a project funded by the Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation, titled “Empowerment of Young Women for a Professional Career in University Studies of Technological and Natural Sciences”. 481 respondents, studying physics, computer science and mechanics, and representing 5 Lithuanian universities, took part in a questionnaire survey. The article analyses quantitative and qualitative data revealing the motives for choosing the field of studies, the way the respondents view the compliance of their own characteristics and skills and the requirements in the selected field, as well as the way they feel in the field of studies that they have chosen.
