Summary / Abstract:

ENLearning motivation is one of the main factors that determine effectiveness of functioning of any pedagogic system. During the pedagogic processes it is important to underline not only education as such but also self-education of a student. It is especially important to ensure objective possibilities related to knowledge, abilities, and skills that would allow students to constantly know their point of studies and the level of success. In the western countries, testing has been used for this purpose for a number of years as one of the most objective control methods for measuring achievements. The work theoretically reasons a testing mechanism as well as personal motivation assumptions during the process of assessment, and formulates the pedagogic requirements for rests and testing of achievements in the context of student motivation. An experimental research was used to prove the anomaly of Herzberg theory application and confirmed that prior to applying social science theories developed in the West; their suitability for Lithuania needs to be tested.
