LTStraipsnyje analizuojamos Arvydo Šliogerio ir Martino Heideggerio filosofijos paralelės, aptariant tiek abiejų filosofų mąstymo panašumus, tiek ir skirtumus. Daugiausia dėmesio skiriama filosofų požiūriui į gelminę filosofijos prigimtį ir misiją, skyrium nagrinėjamos senovės graikų mąstytojų (ypač Aristotelio ir Platono) bei tradicinės kinų filosofijos (visų pirma daoizmo) įtakos Šliogerio ir Heideggerio mąstymui. Filosofiškai interpretuojamos autentiškos egzistencijos, laisvės, būties prasmės, kalbos ir būties santykio, autentiškumo kalboje ir mene sampratos, sudarančios teorinį šių autorių veikalų branduolį. Įvertinamas Šliogerio ir Heideggerio indėlis į filosofiją ir visą kultūrą, jų filosofinio palikimo vertė ir vieta Vakarų filosofijos kontekste, svarstoma, koks turėtų būti ne tik Šliogerio ir Heideggerio filosofinio paveldo tyrinėtojų, bet ir šių autorių įkvėptų, tačiau savarankiškai mąstyti siekiančių šiuolaikinių filosofų santykis su Šliogerio ir Heideggerio palikimu. ENThe author of the article focuses on the parallels between the philosophies of Arvydas Šliogeris and Martin Heidegger, discussing not only the similarities, but also the differences of their thought. Most attention is drawn to both philosophers’ understanding of the deepest nature and mission of philosophy. The author discusses the influences exerted on Šliogeris’ and Heidegger’s thinking by the ancient Greek philosophers (especially Aristotle and Plato) and traditional Chinese philosophy (mainly Taoism), and presents an interpretation of both thinkers’ view of what constitutes the authentic human existence, the essence of freedom, the meaning of life, the relation of language to being, and the criteria of authenticity in the domain of language and art. The author of the article also presents an evaluation of Šliogeris’ and Heidegger’s impact on philosophy and broader culture, and of the value, status, and place of their philosophical legacy in the context of Western philosophy, focusing attention on the issue of how this legacy should be viewed not only by the scholars who investigate it, but also by those contemporary philosophers, especially those belonging to younger generations, who consider themselves inspired by this legacy, yet try to think by themselves, independently.
