ENThe article presents the repressive experiences of Lithuanian women deportees as reflected in life histories. Its aim is to explore the repressive experience of women in gender, ethnic, religious and local identity aspects. The article is based on life histories recorded in ethnographic fieldwork. The studies of sociologists, historians, anthropologists, as well as memories of people, autobiographies and periodicals are used to analyse the identity of exiles. The following tasks have been undertaken: 1) to analyze the repression experience of girls and young women on the basis of the life histories of the deportees; 2) to identify the respondents’ identities and values in different stages of life: childhood and adolescence. The analysis of life histories reveals that young women suffered the repressive experiences: physical, psychological, cultural, and spiritual shocks that affected their formation of identity.
