Summary / Abstract:

LTKalbant apie šventes tautinio identiteto atžvilgiu, kyla klausimas, kokį vaidmenį tapatybės ir neatsiejamo nuo jos bendruomeniškumo konstravimo procese ir kontekste vaidina šventės. Visos šventės visų pirma turi socialinę prasmę ir yra susijusios su priklausomybės didesnei ar mažesnei, formalesnei ar intymesnei grupei patvirtinimu, bendruomeninės ar kolektyvinės tapatybės bei priklausomybės liudijimu. Straipsnyje siekiama išsiaiškinti, ne tiek, kokios šventės yra tautinės – lietuviškos, o kokios šventės lietuviams yra svarbiausios, kaip patiriamas ir suvokiamas bendruomeniškumo jausmas. Remiantis atliktų empirinių tyrimų duomenimis, gautais interviu ir anketinės apklausos būdu, taip pat siekiama išsiaiškinti, kiek yra svarbios šventės, primenančios valstybės istorijos įvykius, kiek etnokultūrinės, religinės, šeimos ir kitos šventės, taip pat kaip pagrindinės valstybės institucijos yra susijusios ar nesusijusios su šventėmis. Tyrimo duomenys atskleidžia, jog svarbiausios ir daugumos apklaustų asmenų šventės yra švenčiamos artimų giminių ar draugų rate. Artimųjų giminaičių ir draugų rato sferoje yra praktikuojami tam tikri lietuviškumo bruožai ir simboliai, leidžiantys jaustis savu, dalijantis bendru paveldu, patirtimi ir vertybėmis. Lietuviškumas dažniausiai praktikuojamas ir perduodamas iš kartos į kartą ne tiek per valstybinius simbolius, viešai patiriant tautinės bendruomenės, kiek siaurame – šeimos ar giminės rate, švenčiant religines ar šeimos šventes.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Asmeninės šventės; Bendruomeniškumas; Identitetai; Kolektyvinė tapatybė; Religinės šventės; Ritualai; Tautinė tapatybė; Valstybinės šventės; Šventės; Švenčių šventimas; Celebration of holidays; Collectvie identity; Festivities; Identity; National identity; Private celebrations; Religion holidays; Rituals; Sociality; State holidays.

ENWhen discussing holidays in terms of national identity, a question as to what role holidays have in the process of building an identity and sense of community, which is an integral part of identity, arises. All holidays have social nature and are related to the confirmation of one’s belonging to a bigger or smaller, more formal or more intimate group as well as to certification of a communal or collective identity.The article is not aimed at defining Lithuanian holidays, but at establishing the most significant holidays for Lithuanians and the way the sense of community is experienced and perceived. Taking into consideration the data of the performed empirical research, which were received by methods of interview, the author of the article seeks to find out as to what extent significant holidays marking national historic events as well as ethno-cultural, religious, family and other holidays are. The author of the article also analyses the way the main state authorities are related or are not related to these holidays. The data of the research reveal that the majority of respondents celebrate the most important holidays with their family or friends. Certain features and symbols of Lithuanian identity allowing one to identify with other persons in the group, share common heritage, experience and virtues are practiced among friends and relatives. Lithuanian identity is usually practiced and transferred from generation to generation through national signs, as well as in a narrow circle of family and friends when celebrating religious or family holidays.
