Summary / Abstract:

LTMokslinių tyrimų, bandančių paaiškinti inovacijų plitimo teritorijoje ypatumus, tiek pasaulyje, tiek ir Lietuvoje XX a. pabaigoje – XXI a. pradžioje nėra daug, ypač didelis susidomėjimas kultūros reiškinių difuzijos tyrimais buvo 1960-1975 metais. ENThe diffusion of innovation or cultural phenomena was discussed in Lithuanian scientific literature only in quite broad sense, while there were no specialised investigation in this field. The master thesis „Lithuanian in the field of innovation diffusions of Europe“ was defended in the Department of Geography and Land Management of Vilnius University by J. Šležaitė in 2016. The thesis analysed existing models of diffusion as well (Šležaitė, 2016). The part of the thesis was used for the preparation of this paper. The following paper devoted for the analysis of diffusion of innovations in Lithuania ir the context of EU is under preparation and should be published in the nearest future. The main purpose of the article is to introduce the methodological problems of cultural diffusion geography. For this reason, there were given the reviews of diffusionism theories and innovations‘ diffusion models (T. Hagerstrand, P. Haggett, E. M. Rogers, F. M. Bass, J. Friedmann, K. Puzanov), also it was pointed out their similarities and differences. Eventually, the geographical innovations‘ diffusion conception was discussed in this article. Despite the fact that diffusionism has already started to lose its positions in the middle of the second decade of the 20th century, the main diffusionism directions/schools (geographical, „culture circles“, English, USA) did the most important role in the recognition process of the cultural diffusion. Besides this, the new as compensational spatial diffusion researches wave is developing in Russia. The previous achievements and the latest researches are often used by many historians, sociologists, culturologists, economists. Some of the innovations‘ spatial diffusion models, which were discussed in the article, reveal the most important methodological problem – lack of complex approach. Mostly, it is watching to the diffusion process from that scientific side which is represented by author. Innovations‘ diffusion models of T. Hagerstrand, P. Haggett, E. M. Rogers, F. M. Bass, J. Friedmann and K. Puzanov show how complicated and miscellaneous is innovations‘ diffusion which weightily affects the developing process of countries and territories. The models of T. Hagerstrand, P. Haggett, J. Friedmann and K. Puzanov are especially significant for cultural diffusion geography, meanwhile sociological E. M. Rogers and F. M. Bass models are valuable as giving additional comprehension of spatial diffusion process. Besides this, it could be stated that in the modern with various connections related world the importance of diffusion models changes – the significance of distance and direct contacts is decreasing.
