Summary / Abstract:

LTLietuvoje atliktuose darbo vertybių tyrimuose neskiriamas specifinis dėmesys vidurinės mokyklos moksleiviams, be to, daugiausia nagrinėtos švietimo sistemos bei informacinės visuomenės vertybių atitikimas. Reikšminiai žodžiai: Vertybės; Mokinių požiūris; Tėvų ir mokytojų požiūriai į darbą; Value; Attitudes of schoolchildren; Their parents and teachers toward the work.

ENIn the labour value studies, performed in Lithuania, no specific attention is dedicated to secondary school students, moreover, attention is mostly dedicated to correspondence of the values of the education system to those of the information society. The aim of the study is to analyze parents’, pedagogues’ and students’ view of labour as a value and reveal its implementation difficulties in the school students’ nurturing process. The subject of the study – school students of 11th – 12th forms, their parents and pedagogues. The analysis of thematic literature and documents and empirical studies were applied. Upon analyzing data of 360 anonymous questionnaires, the following conclusions were made: a) in the students’ opinion labour is not the most important value; more important are friends, family and money; b) parents and friends are the authority to most respondents. Teachers are an authority only to 10 per cent of girls and 10 per cent of boys; c) in the students’ opinion the most important criteria when choosing the profession are good salary, development possibilities and correspondence of the job to the abilities. The concept of labout values, imagined by the teachers and the students is very similar. Even 81 per cent of boys and 93 per cent of girls state that it is difficult to choose a promising profession. The main reasons, complicating the choice are the uncertainty of tomorrow and big competition to studies of well-paid specialities; d) the school fails to create sufficient conditions for students to reveal their personal abilities and provides too little information on higher educational institutions and different specialities; e) although labour is not on the top of students’ values hierarchy, 90 per cent of boys and 79 per cent of girls state that they would like to work in the future.
