Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article discusses the quality of environment as a value in the conditions of the consumer society and shows that the relations between the consumer society and nature always characterized with conflict, which is also true of the present times. Despite that the quality of the environment, which was an external value for the individual for a long time, is becoming an internal value, which is more and more actively stated and protected by the individual. However the problem is that in market conditions quality must be paid for, thus ensuring the possibility to choose while the public opinion states that “quality” must be available to everybody, i. e. anybody must be provided the right to choose. This is where the provisions of a democratic state and the market are in conflict. Referring to the phenomenon of a nature park, three dimensions of value of the quality of environment can be distinguished, i. e. ecological, economic and cultural – educational. Their interrelations, importance of manifestation and the possibilities when identifying the value of the quality of the environment are revealed, the educational value of quality environment and the possibilities of its use when nurturing and developing the relations between the person and nature are shown and the role of democratic power and educational institutions when nurturing the value oriented relations with the nature is discussed.
