Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnio tikslas – aptarti filosofijos mokymo Lietuvos mokyklose situaciją.

ENThe aim of the article is to discus the situation of philosophy teaching in schools of Lithuania. The author is introducing and discussing three philosophy teaching methods, raising an issue regarding qualification of teachers and the lack of textbooks, analysing the relation between the willingness and ability of pupils to learn philosophy. Also, methods are suggested to help resolving the issue of philosophy teaching in schools. The article underlines that philosophy as a school subject is exceptional due to specific characteristics. It should not be grouped with social, natural, and even humanitarian sciences, although philosophy depends on this last package of subjects. Although philosophy should be taught with the help of different teaching technique, most frequently it remains the same: exposition, lecture, textual analysis, interpretation, and essay. In the Lithuanian philosophy teaching tradition, there are three obvious trends that depend on organized seminars, publications, and available textbooks. The first one is teaching of philosophic traditions with the help of textual interpretation, which was suggested by Baranova and Šerpytytė. The second one—according to Degėsis—is based on critical thinking; and the third one—development by Sodeika—focuses on the way how to be authentic and behave respectively.
