ENAssessment and recognition of competences acquired through non-formal and informal learning is constantly stressed in the context of lifelong learning in the contemporary world. In Lithuania, the process of assessment and recognition of competences gained through non-formal and informal learning is only at its outset. This article seeks to analyse the preparation of consultants whose main aim is to counsel candidates during the process of assessment and recognition of competencies, gained through non-formal and informal learning. Consultant's role in this process is analysed performing literature review and presenting the outcomes of empirical research. [From the publication]
