ENThe article analyses the mental image of the rue (Ruta) in 21st century Lithuanian prose and what features of the plant emerge as most important. Using interpretation, description and semantic analysis methods, the article details the visual characteristics of the rue (mophological appearance and smell of the plant), in addition, nutritional and therapeutic properties of the plant are decribed and highlighted. As far as the examples support, the article notes how the rue is treated in Lithuanian folk songs, the old and the new symbolic meaning of this plant is highlighted. [From the publication]
