Content analysis was carried out to clarify students’ attitude towards cheating in sports. Cheating in sports is a complex, poly-semantic phenomenon and characterises the behaviour of the athlete or team. The authors of the paper systematized responses on values in sports, identified their characteristic features and drew the conclusion that high achievement depends on physical, emotional and spiritual strength, the athlete or team experiences tension. Professional athletes violate ethical norms in pursuit of victory. Most of the surveyed were of the opinion that cheating can help win on competitions, unfair play is provoked by the improper behaviour of the competitor. [From the publication]
