LTStraipsnis skirtas lietuvių dailėtyroje beveik netyrinėtai temai - lituanistinės tematikos medžio raižiniams, publikuotiems XIX a. antrojoje pusėje Varšuvoje leistuose iliustruotuose savaitraščiuose. Daugiausia kalbama apie buvusios LDK istorinius kraštovaizdžius įamžinusius raižinius, išskiriamos svarbiausios jų tipologinės grupės, dailininkai. Viena iš išvadų - Varšuvos savaitraščių iliustracijų fenomenas sufokusavo tam tikrą to meto Lietuvos vaizdinį, kurį stokojant kraštovaizdžio fotofiksacijos tenka priimti kaip vieną objektyviausių. ENThe article breaks the ground in Lithuanian art research by undertaking to explore the woodcuts on the Lithuanian theme printed in the illustrated dailies which circulated in Warsaw in the second half ofthe 19th century, such as "Tygodnik Ilustrowany", "Klosy", "Biesiada Literacka", "Tygodnik Powszechny". Most attention is dedicated to the prints showing historic landscapes of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania (up to 300 of such are counted), grouped according to the dominant type of architecture: panoramas, city views; hill-forts, castles and fortresses; religious buildings; manor houses and memorial farmsteads; memorial monuments. The contribution of individual artists in creating these prints, both from ethnic Lithuania and Polish artists who selected Lithuania as their theme is discussed as well. Conclusions are made that the illustrated press was targeting a wide region and was nourished and formed essentially by two subjects, the cultural tradition of the Polish Kingdom and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The Warsaw illustrations captured a period image of Lithuania, and, given the shortage of photographic record, it appears one of the most objective images of historic landscape.
