ENThe article discusses the conflicts of adolescents with their classmates. The research looked at three types of conflicts, those dealing with: 1) values, 2) needs, and 3) role. The conflicts occurred after three kinds of behavior: 1) aggressive, 2) egressive, and 3) regressive. The investigation was carried out with 586 pupils [12 to 16 years old (7th-9th grades)] from urban, regional, and rural Lithuanian secondary schools. The link between the conflicts of adolescents and the frustration of their values/needs/rights (and duties) was established. The results of the empirical research show that the most common cause of a conflict was when the classmate frustrated the adolescent's rights (especially the right to express his opinion). This was usually done in a verbal attack. Aggression was not characteristic for conflicts dealing with needs. The opponent would simply be ignored.
