ENBased on the main theories of humour, the paper attempts to account for the ways in which humour is constructed in posts and comments in personal profiles and pages on Facebook. The material chosen for the analysis focuses on the issue of language policy and the attempts of linguists to standardize language used in the public sphere from the point of view of language users.
