ENThe article examines the recent condition of Lithuanian right-wing political parties. It is revealed in it that general economic, social and political conditions typically associated with the rise and functioning of Western-type parties were missing in Lithuania at the time when those parties came into being and they still are absent to considerable extent. It is argued in the article that the neglect of such state of affairs in the works of many scholars sometimes makes the analysis of political parties inadequate in terms of its correspondence to the political realities of the country. The analysis of the parties based upon the so-called "party orientations" should be considered as the more suitable approach to the problem. Such type of analysis gives an opportunity to establish the more exact typology of Lithuanian right-wing parties and to grasp more adequately their underlying differences. Four possible orientations - restitutive, continuative, imitativeand innovative-can be disclosed within the spectrum of Lithuanian political parties. The complex interplay of the above mentioned orientations resulting in various combinations differentiates markedly the right-wing political parties and determines the prospects of their possible development in the future.
