ENThe drawings of stammering children and their interpretation can provide extra information about the way the child perceives his/her problem, how it is viewed and what emotions it evokes. 31 stammering children between the ages of 5 to 14 have taken part in the research. Neurotic stammering has been identified to 23children, 8children had stammering similar to neurotic. The children had to perform the following: 1)to draw how they imagine their stammering and to explain their picture,2) to explain the choice of colours. The drawing process has been closely observed. The stammering depicted in the drawings helps to reveal situations intensifying stammering. The identification of the child’s stammering type and the emotional attitude towards his/her stammering offers an opportunity to choose more adequate methods for the elimination of stammering. The data shows that 93.6% of the stammerers have a negative attitude towards their stammering, and 16% suffer badly because of it. 6.4% of children view stammering as a normal thing.
