Summary / Abstract:

LTVakarų baltų religijos ir kultūros šaltiniuose Der vnglaubigen / Sudauer ihrer bock / heiligung mit sambt / andern Ceremonien / so sie tzu brauchen gepflegeth; Der Sudauenn / wourschaity, welcher / Ihren Bock heiliget ir Pauliaus Orozijaus kronikos Historiae adversum paganos Wulfstano intarpe pateikiami šios ide. tautos nekrokulto aparašai, sietini su iki šiol menkai tirtos baltų metempsichozės problematika. Daugelis šių šaltinių etnografinių motyvų nėra išaiškinti, jų kultūrologinė prasmė ir vertė nėra nustatyta. Šioje studijoje, taikant vidinį rekonstrukcijos ir tipologinį analizės metodus, pateikiama visiškai nauja minėtų vakarų baltų kultūros šaltinių mitologemų stulpas, raitelių lenktynės, alus, midus, kumelių pienas ir kt. itin archajiškų etnologinių motyvų „aisčiai moka šaltį išlaikyti“ [And þaer is mid Eâstum ân maegð, þaet hi magon cyle gewyrcan (SRP I 734)]; „5–6 + 1 turto dalys“ [fif oððe syx … maestan dӕl (SRP ibd.)] bei įvairių ide. genčių materialiosios kultūros elementų analizė. Nustatyta, kad „Sūduvių knygelėje“ ir P. Orozijaus kronikos Wulfstano intarpe minimi velionio išlydėjimo apeiginiai reliktai traktuotini kaip autentiški, reflektuojantys baltišką nekrokulto tradiciją, suponuojantys unifikuotos ide. genčių laidojimo apeigų sistemos egzistavimą protoindoeuropietiškuoju laikotarpiu. ENDescription of Prussian departed dead-office is laid out in the main sources of the Western Baltic religion and culture (Der vnglaubigen / Sudauer ihrer bock / heiligung mit sambt / andern Ceremonien / so sie tzu brauchen gepflegeth; Der Sudauenn / wourschaity, welcher / Ihren Bock heiliget; Paulus Orosius Historiae adversum paganos relation of Wulfstan). Due to its meagre evaluation the topics of Baltic souls’ transmigration phenomenon are still in obscure. Most of the ethnographic motifs, mentioned in these written sources, are unsettled in addition to the scripts rank value and purport ambiguity. By means of internal reconstruction and typology methods the article is adduced with the new analysis of the most archaic mythologemes pole, equestrian competition, beer, mead, mare milk etc., and ethnologic motifs as "Balts are keen-witted in keeping of chill" [And þaer is mid Eâstum ân maegð, þaet hi magon cyle gewyrcan (SRP I 734)]; from 5 to 6 + 1 apanage [fif oððe syx … maestan dӕl (SRP ibd.)] also with the consideration of the other I–E cultural items. The following conclusions have been made: 1. The departed dead-office information is correlative in the P. Orosius Historiae adversum paganos relation of Wulfstan as well as in Yatvigian book. 2. Locution Pruss. "Begeyte, Begeyte, Pecolle" in the departure of standard practice to explain it as whisking away a devil, expresses the horses spur to ride in full speed. 3. Honey and beeswax were the overbearing icons of necrocult field used to the dead body depuration and mummification effect as the mediatorial elements of the opposite – celestial and terrestrial – planes. 4. Mead drink mentioned in the P. Orosius Historiae adversum paganos relation of Wulfstan represents an alcohol-free drink, i.e. water mixed with honey. 5. Mare milk drinking motif is to be correlative with endeavour to achieve deity benevolence and mediatorial puissance of the opposite planes (terrestrial and superterrestrial). 6. Numerological cue 6 is to be explained as cosmological guide. 7. Shilling toped on the pole (Yatvigian book ethnologic motif) implies both Solar deity donative, and symbol of divine favor and success procurable for conqueror. 8. Pole set at the extreme end of village (Yatvigian book mythologeme) symbolizes origin of life and cosmological guide as well. 9. Prussian departed dead-office description cited in Yatvigian book and P. Orosius Historiae adversum paganos relation of Wulfstan reflects authentic information of the very early Baltic culture period, also presupposes tendencies of common Baltic necrocult and existence of unified I-E exequies.
