Miejsca obrad zjazdów szlacheckich i sejmików powiatu słonimskiego

ENThe aim of the paper is to designate the usual places of meetings of the dietinies (sejmiks) and other noble assemblies of the Słonim poviat. The paper presents the organization of sessions of various types of dietines (sejmiks) and assemblies. In the second half of the 16th century and in the first half of the 17th century, the sejmiks of the Słonim poviat (district) held meetings in the castle of its administrative center. In places other than the capitals of poviats, sejmiks and other noble conventions of poviats of the Nowogródek voivodship took place only in extraordinary cases. After the destruction of 1655–1660, the usual place of meetings of the sejmiks of all poviats (districts) in the voivodship was the sejmiks chambers. In the 17th century, only a few noble conventions of the Słonim poviat (district) were held in roman catholic churches. Ultimately, only the constitution of 1791 gave the Slonim nobility a meeting place in the Bernardine church. There is still a need to research the sources to find the answer to the question about the exact time of building the dietine (sejmik) chambers.
