Summary / Abstract:

LTŠio darbo tikslas – remiantis agrarinio kraštovaizdžio formavimosi, apgyvendinimo raidos ir laidojimo paminklų medžiagos tyrinėjimais apibendrintai aptarti geležies amžiaus dinamikos bendruosius dėsningumus, daugiaaspektę raišką, vidinius ryšius bei specifiką Sėloje. Kultūrinės dinamikos schemos konstravimo principai buvo „pasiskolinti“ iš cikliškumo teorijos plačiai pritaikytos gamtos moksluose, istorijoje, politinėje ekonomikoje, etc. Teorijos archeologinės versijos esmė yra kultūrinių formų kaita patiriant plėtros, stabilizacijos ir regresijos fazes. Vadovaujantis šia strategija Sėlos regione galima išskirti 3 kultūrinės plėtros, 3 stabilizacijos ir 4 transformacijų etapus. Vertinant Sėlos apgyvendinimą pastebėti keli lūžiniai momentai. II a. pab.–III a. pr. galima apibūdinti kaip kultūros geografinės sklaidos jau anksčiau sukultūrintame aukštumų kraštovaizdyje laikotarpį. Nuo VI a. pabaigos vienakryptę apgyvendinimo plėtrą pakeitė įvairiakryptė. Dalis bendruomenių liko senose vietose, dalis, jas apleidę, pasklido naujuose kraštovaizdžiuose. Sėloje kultūrinės raidos tendencijos artimos Baltijos regiono kultūrinei eigai, ką geriausiai atspindi beveik sinchroniški kultūrinės plėtros etapai II a. pab.-III a., VI a. pab. – VII a. ir X a. vid.–XI a. Išoriniai impulsai galėję būti permainų proceso iniciatoriai, tačiau sprendimas keistis ir jo įgyvendinimas priklausė nuo vidinės reakcijos ir galimybių. Todėl kultūrinės permainos sietinos ne su naujų kultūrų susiformavimu, bet su kultūros vidinėmis transformacijomis. [sutrumpintas autoriaus tekstas]

ENThe objective of the work is to summarize general patterns of dynamics, internal relations and specifics of the Iron Age in Sėla using study results of formation of agricultural landscape, development of populating and analysis of burial monuments. Principles of structuring a diagram of cultural dynamics have been “borrowed” from the cycle theory widely applied elsewhere in science. The core of the archaeological version of the theory is fluctuation of cultural forms experiencing stages of development, stabilization and regression. There can be distinguished 3 stages of cultural development, 3 stages of stabilization and 4 stages of transformation in the region of Sėla. Analyzing populating of Sėla, several critical moments are noticeable at the end of 2 century – the beginning of 3 century that can be defined as a period of geographic dispersion of culture in previously culturally developed landscape of the highlands. From the end of the 6 century unidirectional expansion of populating was changed by multi-directional. A part of communities abandoned old places and spread over new locations. Tendencies of the cultural development in Sėla are close to the cultural process of the Baltic region, what is best reflected in almost simultaneous stages of the cultural development at the end of 2 century –3 century, at the end of 6 century – 7 century and in the middle of 10 century – 11 century. External incentives could be initiators of the change process; however the decision to change depended on the internal reaction and capabilities. This is why cultural changes were related to internal cultural transformations rather that to formation of new cultures.
