Summary / Abstract:

LTMoksliniuose šaltiniuose ir strateginiuose dokumentuose aptinkama įvairių jūrinio sektoriaus interpretacijų. Be to, pasigendama jūrinį sektorių sudarančių ekonomikos veiklos rūšies klasių apibrėžties, todėl iškyla mokslinė problema: kokios ekonominės veiklos rūšies klasės priskirtinos jūriniam sektoriui. Tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti jūrinio sektoriaus struktūrą. Tyrimo metodai: mokslinės literatūros analizė, sisteminimas, apibendrinimas, ekspertinis vertinimas, kiekybinis tyrimas. Atlikta teorinė analizė atskleidė, kad jūrinio sektoriaus įtakos regioną apriboti tik apskrities teritorijos, besiribojančios su jūra, ribomis netikslinga, nes juridinio asmens buveinės adresas nebūtinai sutampa su vykdomos veiklos adresu, ypač tai aktualu analizuojant jūrinį sektorių, kada didžioji dalis veiklų vykdomos jūroje ar pakrantėse. Jūrinio sektoriaus struktūros tyrimas atskleidė, kad jūriniam sektoriui priskirtinos 29 ekonominės veiklos rūšies klasės, kurias galima suskirstyti į septynias veiklos sritis: jūrų gyvieji ištekliai; jūrų negyvieji ištekliai; jūrų atsinaujinanti energija; uostų veikla; laivų statyba ir remontas; jūrų transportas; pakrančių turizmas. Pagrindiniai žodžiai: jūrinis sektorius, ekonominės veiklos rūšys. [Iš leidinio]

ENVarious understandings of the maritime sector can be found in scientific sources and strategic documents. According to Viederytė and Juščius (2016), the sector can be understood as a part of the country’s economy which has certain general features of the economy, combining groups of institutional units with a similar economic behaviour, structured into economic activities; while Grublienė and Gotautienė (2012) define the maritime sector as the various totality of branches of maritime business (maritime transport, ports, fishing, extraction of useful resources, industry, recreation, etc), fundamental and applied maritime scientific research, and training systems for maritime specialists. Unfortunately, there is a lack of definitions of the types of economic activity that make up the maritime sector, so the scientific problem is: what classes of economic activity can be assigned to the maritime sector? Object of the research: the maritime sector. Aim of the study: to determine classes of economic activity in the maritime sector. Research methods: analysis of scientific literature, systematisation, summary, expert assessment, quantitative research. The theoretical analysis revealed that it is not appropriate to limit the region of influence of the maritime sector to within Klaipėda only, because the address of the registered office of a legal entity does not necessarily coincide with the address of the activities being carried out. This is especially relevant when analysing the maritime sector, when most of the activities are carried out in the sea or on the coast. The study of the structure of the maritime sector revealed that the maritime sector has 29 classes of economic activity, which can be divided into seven areas of activity: marine life resources (marine fisheries, freshwater fisheries, marine aquaculture, freshwater aquaculture, processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans and clams, whole sale trade of other food products, including fish, crustaceans and clams), inanimate marine resources (crude oil production, natural gas production, the activities of services specific to oil and natural gas production), renewable marine energy (electricity generation), port activities (the construction of water tanks, exploratory drilling, storage, the activities of services specific to water transport, cargo handling), shipbuilding and repairs (the construction of ships and floating structures, the construction of recreational and sports boats [ships], the repair and maintenance of various types of ship), maritime transport (the activities of sales agents for machinery, industrial equipment, ships and aircraft, sea and coastal passenger water transport, sea and coastal freight water transport, inland water passenger transport, other transport-specific service activities, the rental and leasing of water vehicles and equipment), and coastal tourism (the operation of hotels and similar establishments, vacation and other short-term accommodation activities, the operation of recreational vehicles, trailer parks and camping sites, restaurants and prepared food service locations). Keywords: maritime sector, types of economic activity. [From the publication]
