The Role of the university in the development of the learning society

LTNuo pat atsiradimo terminas „learning society“ sulaukė nemažai diskusijų šia tema. Besimokanti visuomenė- tai žinių visuomenės veidas. Dabar ši sąvoka itin plačiai naudojama buvusiose SSRS ir dabar pereinamajame laikotarpyje esančiose šalyse. Šis straipsnis aiškina „besimokančios visuomenės“ koncepciją, pateikia teorinius ir praktinius pagrindimus ir implikacijas, ypatingą dėmesį skiriant terminui „šalys pereinamajame laikotarpyje“ bei vaidmeniui, kurį turi suvaidinti aukštasis mokslas, universitetai, įgyvendinant „besimokančios visuomenės“ idėją. ENEver since its appearance, the term “learning society” received many discussions on the topic. The learning society is the face of the knowledge society. Currently, this concept is especially widely used in the former USSR and current countries in transition. This article explains the concept of a learning society, provides theoretical and practical reasoning and implications, by giving especial attention to the term “countries in transition” as well as the role that has to be undertaken by the higher education and universities while implementing the idea of the learning society.
