Summary / Abstract:

ENQuestions of the research problem: what is the role carried out by the nurse in the neuro-rehabilitation team? Is this role a holistic one? What are these roles like and what are they oriented to? Purpose of the research: to distinguish the integration of the nurse’s role and to substantiate his/her characteristics in the neuro-rehabilitation team. Results of the research: The role carried out by the nurse in the neuro-rehabilitation team can be defined as a holistic one, because realistically, different roles are being performed simultaneously, the compatibility of which in each practical situation and in different contexts is not steady, i.e. nurse’s roles in the neuro-rehabilitation team change subject to the teamwork objectives and tasks. Roles carried out by the nurse in the neuro-rehabilitation team are oriented to: the team’s objectives and tasks, the organization’s objectives and needs, the integrated needs of the team members and the content of tasks and objectives pursued by them, the coordination and organization of the performed activity process, the nurse himself/herself, i.e. his/her ability to assess their competence (abilities, knowledge) and to reflect situations, ideas, etc. The nurse’s role in the neuro-rehabilitation team encompasses specific roles – assessor, consultant, adjuster, organizer, educator, coordinator, prophylaxis-prevention implementer, advocate, developer, researcher, motivator, idea generator and performer-practitioner.
