LTStraipsnyje analizuojami mažmeninės prekybos tinklo struktūriniai pokyčiai ne tik teoriniu, bet ir praktiniu aspektu. Atlikta statistinių duomenų analizė ir empiriniai tyrimai parodė, kad Lietuvoje prasidėjo mažmeninės prekybos tinklo poliarizacijos procesas maisto ir nemaisto prekių sektoriuose. Permainos mažmeninės prekybos tinklo struktūroje rodo, kad prasidėjusį poliarizacijos procesą galima būtų sieti ne tik su mažmeninės prekybos tinklo atsinaujinimu, kai kuriasi nauji prekybos įmonių tipai, bet ir su besiformuojančia kokybiškai nauja gyventojų prekybinių paslaugų sistema. ENAfter the Lithuanian Republic regained independence transformation process started, the base of which is the creation of new economic system, functioning in the market economy conditions. The formation of retail trade network, its structure has particular importance to the quality of delivering consumer trading services and efficient operating of the whole retail Hade system Changing clients and their needs, increasing number of trading companies changed the zone of activities of retail trading company and its interaction with customers In the article structural changes of retail trade network are analyzed not only from the theoretical, but also from the practical point of view. The goal is to show the structural changes of retail trade network in Lithuania in 1990-2000. The analysis of statistical data and empirical research indicated that in Lithuania the process of retail trade network polarization started in food and non-food goods' sectors. Changes in retail trade network's structure show that the started polarization process is not only due to the renewal of retail trade network, when new types of trade companies are established, but also due to the formation of qualitatively new residents trading services' system.
