ENFemale entrepreneurship plays a significant role in the improvement of the country's social policies, economic processes, and sustainable growth and makes positive changes in the field of gender equality. Despite the fact that participation of women in innovation, information technology and social business development is a priority area in the political agenda for women's empowerment in Lithuania and in the European Union, women still face greater barriers to establishing new enterprices, access funds and loans, and be an equal player in the business sector. The aim of this article is to reveal the importance of women's entrepreneurship in the context of a sustainable economy and sustainable business and to define assumptions for the development of socially responcible business environment. Research methods: analysis of scientific literature and relevant documents. The research was based on new and significant scientific works by Lithuanian and foreign authors, European Union, Lithuanian and global entrepreneurship indicators. Main results encompass public policies to promote female entrepreneurship - fostering a gender neutral legal framework for business, reducing administrative burdens, ensuring equal access business funding, support measures such a financial literacy, training, mentoring, consultancy services, support women leadership in high lever positions of financial institutions and among business angels.
