ENAfter the incorporation of Klaipėda region into the Republic of Lithuania in 1923 German historians raised a thesis that Lithuanians were not native inhabitants of East Prussia (Lithuania Minor). The author of this article introduced polemic on this subject which had been raised in publications and radio lectures of Lithuanian historians until 1940. These views were propagated in conjunction with special organizations like The Union of the Lithuanian West. The nationalism of the little nation had begun the struggle with a big opponent. Historical sources, mainly newspaper articles and archive files, show that majority of Lithuanian historians participated in the "fight". [From the publication]
