LTVienas iš aktualių švietimo reformos aspektų - specialiųjų pedagogų profesinis rengimas. Ilgą laiką specialiųjų pedagogų profesinio renginio modelis tenkino valstybės interesus ir buvo vykdomas centralizuotai. Po 1990 m. Lietuvos nepriklausomybės atgavimo prasidėjusi švietimo reformos orientacija į rinkos ekonomikos poreikių tenkinimą sąlygojo naujų specialiųjų pedagogų profesinio rengimo modelius.

ENOne of the main issues of the education reform in Lithuania is the vocational training of special educators. Before the restoration of independence in Lithuania in 1990, a centralized training system of special educators prevailed and was influenced by the Soviet political ideas of Marxism-Leninism. The vocational training reform of special educators going on since 1990 meets the needs of our society. . The vocational training reform of special educators has developed into two trends: university (research - theoretical) and vocational (practical). The content of the vocational training of special educators has experienced the influence of psycho-educational and socio-educational attitudes towards the handicap.
