LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjamos ankstyvojo amžiaus mikčiojančius vaikus auginančių tėvų patirtys, atskleidžiama multidimensinė sutrikimo struktūra mikčiojančio vaiko šeimos kontekste. Sutrikimo struktūra kiekvienu konkrečiu atveju yra skirtinga ir veikiama daugelio veiksnių: fiziologinių, lingvistinių, nulemtų kalbinės aplinkos bei psichologinių. Pristatomi ir analizuojami vienuolikos šeimų atvejai. Pateikiamas tyrimas, išskiriant multidimensinės mikčiojimo struktūros sudėtį ir komponentus. Taikant interviu metodą, aptariama kiekvieno komponento įtaka mikčiojančiam vaikui ir jo šeimos nariams. Taip pat analizuojama į šeimą orientuotos bei kompleksinės pagalbos svarba mikčiojimui įveikti.
