Nierówności dochodowe w kontekście jakości życia w krajach Unii Europejskiej

ENThis paper addresses the issues of the importance of income inequalities in the European Union member states in 2010-2015 and its measurement. It was prepared on the basis of analysis and synthesis of literature and collected statistic data of Eurostat. In its theoretical part, the most principal factors for the assessment and measurement of analysed inequalities were presented. The results obtained confirmed the presence of income inequalities in the European Union. High rates were observed in the least wealthy states – in Bulgaria, Romania, Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) and the countries of Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Cyprus). The lowest income discrepancies, regardless state interventions, were observed in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. Poland belongs to the group of states in which the income inequality is lower than the European Union average.
