LTKuriant dinamišką ir konkurencingą valstybės ekonomiką, ypatinga svarba yra teikiama gyventojų išsilavinimui, kuris tampa esminiu siekiant didesnio užimtumo. Straipsnyje atlikus mokslinės literatūros teorinę analizę pabrėžiama išsilavinimo nauda tiek individo, tiek visuomenės aspektu, o statistinių duomenų analizės pagalba atskleidžiama išsilavinimo įtaka gyventojų užimtumo lygiui Lietuvoje.

ENIn order to create a dynamic and competitive economy, special attention has to be given to education, which is essential increasing individual and social-economical wealth. In Lithuania due to unfavourable demographic trends - declining birth rates, an aging population and the huge emigration - decline both the total and the working age population. Therefore, it is important to emphasize the significance of education, training and quality of learning in their relation with the employment rate in the country. The purpose of the article was to analyse the benefits of education revealing its impact on the employment rate in Lithuania. This was done through a systematic literature and statistical data analysis and synthesis. The accomplished theoretical research about individual and social - economic benefits from education has revealed that there exist the direct influences of education on employment rate. Higher education is usually associated with higher personal productivity, greater opportunities in the labour market and higher income. Accordingly, the increased income of population leads to higher taxes to the state budget and higher total state revenue. These results were empirically validated through the statistical data analysis by the case of Lithuania.
