ENPhysical activity (PA) is one of the most significant factors affecting children development and health. The analysis of students’ daily time allocation showed that most of time schoolchildren spending unfocused and only part of the time to an organized physical education (PE) and un-/organized PA. The main aim of PE as a subject is to provide education in physical education, sports and develop physical activity abilities and skills, as well as providing required theoretical knowledge and promoting physical self-education. The relevance of this study is also determined by the of basic and secondary education programs in general education plans provision (2009) which states that students during PE classes can be assessed by a mark or as credited, and this assessment can be decided to school. We are raising question, is the assessment during PE classes related to students’ PA? The aim was to establish Kaunas city 7–11 grades student’s assessment during physical education and their relation to physical activity. The study involved 242 students from three high schools in the city of Kaunas. Investigation has been carried out in a two-part questionnaire, which consisted of 18 questions. The first part consisted of PE and the second PA. The study was carried out in accordance with the international PA questionnaire (IPAQ) and compared with the PE assessment questionnaire (Emeljanovas, Trinkūnienė, 2011). During the research it was determined that vigorous PA more engaged respondents rated in marks (36.0%), than rated as credited (22.6%). As well as moderate PA were more engaged respondents rated marks (30.7%), than credited (21.9%). Low PA was higher for those respondents who rated as credited (30.5%), than those who are assessed by a mark (28.9%). Student assessment during PE classes in mark or in credit have an impact on their physical activity as more physically active students are the ones that the accessed in marks during PE classes.Students approach to evaluation corresponds to their current assessment, e.g. those who rated in marks and wants to be assessed by a mark, and those who rated as credited and want to be assessed in credits. Students assessment do not have a significant impact on their PA during PE classes, but more physically active after school, those students who rated in marks. [From the publication]
