Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje aptariama Vilniaus raida valdant Zigmanto ir jo sūnaus Vladislovo Vazos valdymo laikais – pristatoma miesto statuso kaita po Liublino unijos, urbanistiniai bei architektūriniai pokyčiai mieste aptarimu laikotarpiu. Po Liublino unijos Vilnius neteko oficialaus sostinės statuso, tačiau atskiri buvusios padėties elementai išliko: mieste rinkdavosi Vilniaus konvokaciniai seimai, čia posėdžiavo po teismų reformos įsteigtas Vyriausias tribunolas, rezidavo pirmasis LDK senatorius Vilniaus vyskupas. Tiek Zigmantas, tiek Vladislovas Vaza Vilniuje reziduodavo dažnai, tačiau nereguliariai. Valdovo vizitai bent laikinai miestą paversdavo Abiejų Tautų Respublikos politinio gyvenimo centru, pagyvindavo jo ekonomiką. Vazų valdymo laikais smarkiai keitėsi Vilniaus urbanistinis vaizdas: buvo įsisavinami nuošalesnės ir mažiau patrauklios miesto dalys, iškilo didžiuliai puošnūs bažnyčių ir vienuolynų kompleksai bei didikų rūmai, susiformavo žydų gyvenama zona. XVII a. pirmojoje pusėje Vilniuje pradėjo rastis pirmieji baroko architektūros pavyzdžiai. Pagrįstai galima tvirtinti, kad Zigmanto ir Vladislovo Vazų valdymo laikai sudaro atskirą laikotarpį Vilniaus istorijoje.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Abiejų Tautų Respublika (ATR; Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodów; Žečpospolita; Sandrauga; Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth); Lenkija (Lenkijos karalystė. ENThe article studies evolution of Vilnius during the reign of Zigmantas (Sigismund) Vasa and his son Vladislovas (Wladyslaw) Vasa. The article presents the change of the city status after the Union of Lublin; urban and architectural changes in the city during the period are discussed. After the Union of Lublin Vilnius lost its official status of a capital, however some elements of the former status remained: the city was the place of Vilnius Convocation Sejms, the Supreme Tribunal established after the reform of courts resided here as well as the first senator of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, bishop of Vilnius. Both Zigmantas and Vladislovas Vasas often resided in Vilnius, however not regularly. Visits of the rulers used to turn Vilnius into the political centre of the Republic of the Two Nations at least temporarily, the visits also boosted its economy. During the period of the Vasas’ reign the urban landscape of Vilnius changed significantly: remote and less attractive locations of the city were inhabited; vast magnificent complexes of churches and monasteries as well as courts of noblemen were built; the Jewish residential areas was formed. In the first half of the 17th century first buildings of the Baroque style appeared. One can positively state that the period of Zigmantas and Vladislovas Vasas constituted a separate special period in the history of Vilnius.
