ENThe article deals with the concept of integration and with the emphasis on its similarity to synthesis, levelling. The issue raised is: what type of integration presents no threat by its consequences of levelling elements. Advantages and disadvantages of integration in the teaching process are reviewed. The consequences of integration of two curricula subjects are discussed. The results of a survey of teachers of the Lithuanian language that reflect the situation of teaching the native language at modern school are described. [From the publication]
