ENThe main aim of this study is to analyse the experience of the management of volunteering in Lithuania. The analysis of literature made it clear that the various authors provide some voluntary activities processes of management that should be followed in order to do voluntary activity as effectively as possible. This article is based on qualitative research methodology, the data acquisition applied to semi-structured qualitative interview method, which takes account of the management cycle process elements: involvement of volunteers, planning, training, selection, maintenance and evaluation. 14 interviews were collected during March-May, 2012. The study showed that although in Lithuania is not yet a deep tradition of voluntary activities management, but the non-governmental organizations in developing managerial creation of a tradition. Volunteering management to realize the financial resources is a very important factor but not the only one. The survey respondents experience with the ability to flexibly adapt to the current options. It can be argued that non-governmental organizations use a variety of volunteer recruitment techniques that range from the dissemination of mouth, until the planned comprehensive search potential volunteers. The article highlighted the general and special volunteers search engines. General measures to characterize general information about NGOs and volunteering opportunity presentation and special – targeted search measures specifically target group within a pre-planned measures. A typical selection tool is a conversation, during which examined volunteer motivation and the ability to spend their time and activities of the organization set goals. In some cases, the selection of potential volunteers paid attention to the recommendations, but it is not a tradition.Complicated selection process carried out by organizations whose activities are related to psychological phone support. It becomes a volunteer, not only within a motivational interview, but after the training exam. Volunteer training sessions can also be characterized from their formal absence of complex theoretical and practical skills training programs. A typical example of informal training of volunteer is learning in the practice. NGOs that remain especially long-term volunteers, uses a variety of volunteer support and encourage measures: Warm development environment, adapts to volunteer opportunities, supports and advises them when they are faced with difficult situations, evaluate their performance and results, and to make them recognize organize informal events to enhance the overall relations. Professional volunteering evaluation is an exception which occurs very rarely. Key volunteer recognition measures are letters of thanks, volunteer activities to acknowledge publicly the volunteer election. Volunteers volunteering stops for various personal reasons, about which organizations are informed in advance. Typically, due to organizational reasons for volunteering terminated from her retreat silently, though NGO trying to find out the cause and removed. [From the publication]
