Globaliosios Rytų-Vakarų sąveikos ir naujoji mąstymo geografija: kur link, lietuviškume?

LTStraipsnyje, glaustai apžvelgus istorinį laikotarpį nuo kolonijinės Vakarų plėtros į Rytus naujaisiais amžiais iki nūdienos globalių sąryšių pasaulio, kritiškai teiraujamasi: „Kaip kreipti mąstymą, keliant lietuviškos tapatybės klausimą šiandien?“ Brėžiama mąstymo kryptis ir siūloma įžvalga, jog, gyvendami dabartiniame pasaulyje, lietuviškumo prasmių turėtume ieškoti ne tiek būties statikoje (istoriniuose įvykiuose ar daiktiniame etninės kilmės pavelde), kiek dvasios dinamikoje (išgyvenamame atskiro asmens ir jį supančios lietuviškos bendruomenės ryšyje). ENThe article starts with a concise overview of the historical transition from the colonizing expansion of the West to the East in the modern age to the contemporary world of globalization in light of which the critical question is raised, “how should one orient ones thinking in inquiring about Lithuanian identity today?” The direction suggested and the insight offered for us, the inhabitants of the contemporary world, is to search not so much in the statics of being (historical events or things of material ethnic heritage), as in the dynamics of the spirit (the lived connection of a person with the Lithuanian community surrounding him or her).
