ENThe article raises the issue of the purposefulness of the application of modern informational technologies in the process of non-formal ecological/ecology education of the society. Because there are several tens of Lithuanian non-governmental organisations, engaged in non-formal ecological education, the authors of the article aimed to find out whether they used internet possibilities, had their websites, and in what way the websites were used in order to achieve the set goals. This study analyses the content of the websites, and the received information discloses the level and the extent of website application for ecological education of the society by the non-governmental organisations of Lithuania.
