Skaitymas priklauso žmogaus visuomeninės komunikacijos veiklos sričiai, kurioje realizuojama rašytinė verbalinio bendravimo forma. Išmokyti studentą skaityti ir suprasti užsienio kalbą yra svarbi užduotis, nes nuo to priklauso, ar būsimasis inžinierius papildys savo profesines žinias skaitydamas naujausią jam aktualios srities informaciją.
ENThe article deals with reading as one of the most important activity in teaching foreign language at a technical college. The reading belongs to the field of human communication and the written verbal means of communication is fulfilled in it. The important task is to teach a student to read and understand the text in a foreign language because it depends whether a future engineer increases his/her professional competence in reading the latest information in the field which is actual for him/her. The competence in using a foreign language is the indispensible part of a highly qualified specialist in the modern society.
