Balmonto Lietuva : kultūrų dialogo interpretacija

LTŠi studija – pirmoji išsami Lietuvos vaizdinio atsiradimo ir sklaidos rekonstrukcija garsaus XX a. pradžios rusų poeto ir eseisto Konstantino Balmonto kūryboje. Kitos kultūros tema Balmonto kūryboje – vienas ją maitinančių šaltinių. Ne plagijavimo, o įkvėpimo prasme. Kiekviena rašytojo knyga paženklinta vienos ar kitos nacionalinės kultūros elementais, kurie turi būti suprantami labai plačiai – nuo mitologijos duomenų, tautosakos motyvų, literatūros, muzikos, kitų menų faktų bei vardų iki specifinio peizažo, augmenijos, žmonių charakterio, gyvenimo būdo. Išeities pozicija pasirinkta kultūrų polilogo idėja leidžia autorei aptarti Jūros švytėjime ir Šiaurės pašvaistėje sukurtą Lietuvos paveikslą plačiame rusų simbolizmo, lenkų romantizmo bei lietuvių tautinio atgimimo ideologijų sankirtos kontekste. Darbe įtaigiai analizuojama kalbos, raštijos, tikėjimo, politinių ir istorinių mitų problematika, struktūruojanti Balmonto lietuviškąjį diskursą. Poetinių tekstų interpretacijoje sėkmingai pritaikoma istoriografinė medžiaga, parodoma įtampa, atsirandanti tarp publicistinės ir meninės plotmių. ENThe study is the first comprehensive reconstruction of the birth of the image of Lithuania in the works of a famous Russian poet and essayist of the beginning of the 20th century, Konstantin Balmont. The topic of another culture in Balmont’s works is one of its feeding sources. This is in terms of inspiration rather than plagiarizing. Every book of the writer is marked with elements of one or another culture that are to be perceived rather broadly, starting with mythological data, folk motives, literary, musical facts and names and those of other arts to specific landscape, flora, characters of people, and lifestyle. The cultural polylogue, chosen as the starting position, allows the author to discuss the image of Lithuania created in The Glow of the Sea and The Northern Lights in the wide context of the clash of the Russian symbolism, Polish romanticism and Lithuanian revival. The work analyzes the issues of language, writings, and religion, political and historical myths, which gives structure to Balmont’s Lithuanian discourse. Historiographic material is successfully applied for the interpretation of poetic texts, tension that occurs between the publicistic and artistic layers is showed. The author’s insights in the genesis and structure of the image of Lithuania in the works of Balmont will serve not only to the literary scientists but also to cultural historians in perceiving the past of the multicultural Lithuania, discussing topical issues of national identity and the relationship between freedom and universality in the Eastern and Central Europe of the first half of the 20th c.
