Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnio tikslas - išnagrinėti vykstančių globalizacijos ir pasiruošimo integracijai į ES procesų įtaką Lietuvos žemės ūkio ir kaimo politikai. Atlikti analizę ir nurodyti priemones, kurių reikia imtis, siekiant padidinti ir sustiprinti atskirų žemės ir maisto ūkio šakų konkurencinį pranašumą bei užtikrinti tvirtesnes šalies žemdirbių pozicijas. Darbe įvertinta esama Lietuvos žemės ir maisto ūkio padėtis, iškeltos pagrindinės problemos tiek atskirose ūkio šakose, tiek ir bendrosios žemės ūkiui. Tyrimams taikyti užsienio šalių ir Lietuvos mokslininkų darbų metaanalizės, konkrečių atvejų nagrinėjimo, palyginamosios analizės metodai. ENAgriculture in Lithuania - traditional, important, multiple, part of Lithuania's establishment. In the future of Lithuania will be not protected from competition in agriculture and food sector because of globalization process. So in respect of that, there must be given priorities for that production which is most suitable to provide in Lithuania's agriculture and food sector. Today most important aim is to integrate Lithuania's agriculture in EU market so that competition with them would be at the same level. Because only well supported (with latest technologies) Lithuania's agriculture market is able to survive in EU market. Priorities must be given for these agriculture and food market sectors: production of milk, production of meat, razing animals, gardening, oil-bearing and unconventional plants, grain, sugar-beets. The problem is that these products are not protected from EU competition in the inside and outside markets because of low level of technology progress, big production expenses, lack of money. Milk economy is a priority in the Lithuania's agriculture developing strategy. Being a part of EU, Lithuania's positions will depend on this kind of economy (milk market). Also Lithuania will face the problems of EU veterinarian standards and requests. Little farms will have most difficulties establishing EU standards, but requests for little farms are not established. All weak sides of milk market will be checked and manufacturers will have an opportunity to learn to avoid problems in milk market - that is the plan of food and veterinarian institution. Seeking to be competitive in the EU, only big farms (with big amount of animals) must be formatted so that milk price would be lower and the quality of the product would be checked better. Second important sector is meat sector. There are good conditions to develop meat market, especially for sheep razing - there is a lack of this kind o f meat in EU. For changing meat market (to be more competitive) there are the same rules as for milk market. In other agriculture and food sectors changes must be also made. [From the publication]
