Summary / Abstract:

Skirtingo amžiaus moterys patiria skirtingus darbo stresorius. 4. Dažniausiai tas pačias stresines situacijas išgyvena ir moterys, dirbančios to paties tipo organizacijoje. Reikšminiai žodžiai: Moterys; Karjera; Stresas; Stresoriai; Streso valdymas; Woman; Career; Stress; Stressors; Stress management.

ENEmployees’ stress affects the activities of the organisation. It causes the decrease in productivity, increase in absenteeism and being late for work, and a more frequent turnover of employees. Scientific literature mostly analyses stress without distinguishing between genders; however, there are many situations that become strong stressors only in the female working environment. Female stress in the working environment is a rather new research area. The main environments – work, home, social environment – form the integrated entirety of forces that impact each other. Stressors related to the working environment affect women both at home and in the social environment. The results of the research revealed the following: 1. Stress at work is a large part of daily stress. 2. Women mostly feel stressed due to bad work organisation, unacceptable methods of work performance, and social factors, including the bigger workload (57%), constantly increasing requirements (57%), lack of recognition and evaluation from the top management (48%), and bad relations with colleagues (30%). 3. Women of different age suffer from different work stressors. 4. Women working in organisations of the same type mainly experience the same stressful situations. Successful employees are the goal of every company. Employees who feel that the organisation cares about them are likely to be loyal and committed. All this creates the conditions for top performance. Stress can be managed. Stress management does not require high costs and is surprisingly effective. Two stress management levels could be distinguished: individual and organisational.
