On the origin of the Baltic and Slavic o-stem genitive singular suffix
LTBaltų ir slavų kalbų „o“ kamieno gen. sg. sufikso *-ūd kilmė aiškinama remiantis „naujuoju požiūriu“ į ide. morfologiją. Teigiama, kad šis sufiksas atsirado gramatikalizuojant deiktinę dalelytę *a, kuri kontaminavusi su deiktine dalelyte *(e/o)T. Taip susiformavo vienas iš vėlesnės nominalinės paradigmos fleksinių elementų. Dėstomą aiškinimą remia tai, kad toks procesas yra patikimas tipologiškai ir dažnas ide. kalbose bei ankstyvosiose tarmėse.
ENThe origin of the gen. sg. suffix *-ūd of the Baltic and Slavic stem o is explained based on the “new attitude” towards the morphology of ide. It is stated that this suffix emerged when gramatising the deictic participle *a, which contaminated with the deictic participle *(e/o)T. This is the way one of the inflexional elements of the later nominal paradigm formed. This interpretation is aimed on the fact that this process is reliable typologically.
