ENThe Problem of Musical Education of a Personality, Raised in the Article "The Fundamentals of a Pupil's Musical Expression". The school today is able to convey the knowledge and develop activity skills. This direction, which used to be emphasized in the previous literature on education, is still remaining in the existing process of musical education. This does not ensure the contents of art and musical activities, and musical education becomes a limited standpoint of personal culture development. That is why it is proposed to replace the reproductive type of activities by the activities, directed towards expression. The goal of the article is to show the possibilities of cooperation between a teacher and a pupil, as well as the significance of seeking expression in the process of teaching a song. The article discusses the fundamentals of a primary school pupil's musical expression. It singles out understandings of this way of learning a song and the stages of search of musical expression. By means of creative tasks a pupil becomes an active personage of the process, and a teacher - a cooperation partner. The discussion of the problem is based on the example of teaching a song. The description of a concrete example of experimental teaching shows the change of a child's activities in order to achieve expression. The investigations show that, seeking the targets of developing a pupil's musical culture, a pupil's expression is a conceptual educational personality development problem. [From the publication]
