Summary / Abstract:

LTMigracija – demografinis, socialinis, psichologinis reiškinys, turintis didelės reikšmės išsivysčiusioms šalims, kuriose tarptautinis gyventojų judėjimas daro didesnę įtaką šalies demografinei charakteristikai ir nuo jos priklausomiems ekonominiams rodikliams nei gyventojų gimstamumas ar mirtingumas. Straipsnio tikslas - įvertinti migracijos poveikį Lietuvos darbo rinkos rodikliams. Iki 2006 m.

ENMigration is a demographic, social and psychological phenomenon that is significant to developed countries where the international migration of residents has more influence on the country's demographic characteristic and the related economic rates rather than on birthrate or mortality rates. The aim of the article is to evaluate the influence of migration to the rates of Lithuanian labour market. Until 2006, the “exploratory”, “experimental” migration was typical to Lithuania when the relation with the mother country was not lost and the long-term change of the living place was not planned. The process of “mind leak” starts in Lithuania. During the economic increase, the return immigration is characteristic of the immigration in Lithuania. At that time, the influence of international migration on the labour market rates was felt through the change of the number of emigrants in a longer term; during the effect of general migration, it was felt by transactions of private persons from foreign countries. During the economic increase, the international migration had a short-term positive effect that was the decrease in the number of the unemployed and the unemployment rates in the country and the increase of the employment level. The increasing migration has a negative effect on a country's labour force and the level of the labour force activity. Also, a significant subordination between the number of immigrants and unemployed people and between the unemployment rate and employment rate was established. Considering that the number of immigrant is relatively low in order to influence the employment rates it is possible to make an assumption that the level increase during the analysed period may be considered to be a factor of immigration attraction but not a result.
