Title:
Industrial heritage in a rural country: interpreting industrial past in Lithuania
In the Book:
Industrial heritage around the Baltic sea. Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis, 2012. P. 65-78
Summary / Abstract:

ENEuropean society understands and values industrial heritage as important evidence of a common European experience. Even more, industrial heritage is seen as something that represents the universal values of the modern European society. However, in this chapter I would like to use a relativist approach to heritage which claims that there is not one heritage but many, as each country interprets and presents its industrial past in a different way. As an example I shall use Lithuanian experience based on the local perception of industrial heritage. [p. 65].
