ENIn modern society, where is emphasized the benefit of the usage of better knowledge and innovations, it is necessary to broaden creative abilities of population. Innovations will have no basis without education. Educational system has to develop creativeness and natural gift. Modern scientists in their works often emphasize these abilities: the ability to envisage nature, to refuse false assumptions, stereotypical ways of thinking, to know and find out the solution in substandard situations; to create original products, new methods, constructive thesis, art works; develop and implement ideas and projects, envisage their valuability and persuade others etc. E. Jaques-Dalcroze and C. Orff were the first creators of education by musical activities. Lithuanian music pedagogues say that students must be involved in various musical activities in the lessons. However, not all musical activities can be related to education of creative abilities. In this article we will discuss the peculiarities of education of higher class students' creative abilities by musical activities: emphasize the lineament of creative abilities by musical activity, the survey data of music teachers, which shows the frequency of education of higher class students' creative abilities by musical activities, analysis of music lessons. Object of research - development of higher grade students' creative capacities in music lesson. Aim of research - to reveal the peculiarities of development of higher grade students' creative capacities in music lesson.Tasks of research - to find out how often teachers train students' creativeness; the encouragement of students' creativeness in music lessons; divergentical tasks and questions, the frequency of encouragement of individual and independent work. During the research 84 teachers were given a questionnaire. The results revealed that teachers very often pay attention how to develop students' abilities to implement ideas. Students are often encouraged to realize the mood of music, convey their relationship with music, clearly describe the piece of music, they listen to. Rarely teachers develop students' abilities to raise the ideas, to find out nontipical solutions. The students are seldom encouraged to put creative ideas, understand the ways how to implement such ideas. Music lessons observational data (there were observed 50 lessons in 3 weeks with 10 different music teachers in Klaipėda) shows, that information from survey do not match with the data from the observed lessons. In practice teachers rarely develop students' creative abilities, as they answered in questionnaire. More than half of respondents said they often encourage to feel the music mood and the third part of respondents said they do it very often. Although, only in fourth lesson there were the attention to this ability. Deplorable fact has been received from analysis of information about divergentical and convergencical questions and tasks. It was clear that in more than half observed lessons the students were not given such tasks or questions. The research showed the primary assumption of researchers, development of creative abilities in lessons is not satisfactory and it requires purposeful attempts of the teacher. [From the publication]
