XVII a. unitų literatūros bruožai: biografiniai kūriniai Lietuvos Didžiojoje Kunigaikštystėje

LTBiografijos buvo reikšminga unitų ir visos LDK literatūros dalis, teikusi savitumo Baroko epochai regione. Dauguma jų parašytos lotynų kalba ir rodo Vakarų lotyniškosios kultūros recepciją rusėnų Rytų apeigų katalikų aplinkoje. Jos buvo rašomos autorių, įgijusių puikų išsilavinimą (dažniausiai Romoje) ir yra vertingi biografinės literatūros pavyzdžiai. Straipsnyje šie biografiniai kūriniai apžvelgiami įvardijant pagrindinius autorius, žanro raidos bruožus, literatūrinės formos variantus, biografijų šaltinius, transformacijas kituose žanruose.

ENThe biographies of the Uniates of the Republic of the Two Nations, being a significant part of the literature of the Uniates and the whole Grand Duchy of Lithuania, endowed the regional Baroque with much originality. Most of them were written in Latin and displayed the acceptance of the Western Latin culture in the Ruthenian Eastern Catholic environment. Written by the excellently educated (mostly Rome-educated) authors, these biographies, for example the biography of the Uniate metropolite Josephus Velamin Rutskyj by Raphael Korsak and the biographies of the Saint Josaphat Kuntsevych and Meletij Smotryckyj (1666) by Jakob Susza, are valuable specimens of biographical literature. The present article overviews these and other biographies, specifying the main features of the development of the genre, the variants of the literary form and its transformation in other genres (for instance the work by Andreas Młodzianowski that represents the life of b. Josaphat Kuntsevych in a series of emblems and eulogia (1675)).
