Lietuvos saleziečiai : sociokultūrinė veikla ir tautiškumas

LTStraipsnyje analizuojama saleziečių kongregacijos vyrų ir moterų vienuolių veikla Lietuvoje XX ir XXI a. Pabrėžiama, kad dirbdami tiek Lietuvoje, tiek misijose tarp kitų tautų lietuviai saleziečiai gilinosi į vietines kultūras ir rūpinosi visuomenės, ypač jaunimo, sociokultūrinėmis reikmėmis. Po Pirmojo pasaulinio karo saleziečiai skleidė kunigo Jono Bosko idėjas Lietuvos Respublikoje per spaudą ir savo bendradarbių kuopeles. 1931 m. gavę oficialų Kauno arkivyskupo leidimą steigti saleziečių provinciją, veikti ir kurti mokyklas, jie stengėsi atitraukti skurdžiai gyvenančią kaimo ir miesto jaunimo dalį nuo Europoje augusio socialinio susipriešinimo, platino visuomenės solidarumo idėją. 1939 m. polietninį Vilniaus kraštą grąžinus Lietuvai, lietuviai saleziečiai pradėjo į jų įtakos sferą patekusio prolenkiškai orientuoto įvairiataučio jaunimo tautinius santykius balansuoti lietuvių naudai. Antrojo pasaulinio karo metais jie teikė krikščionišką pagalbą pabėgėliams lenkų saleziečiams, gelbėjo nuo genocido žydus. Sovietų režimas sunaikino kongregaciją. Nauja būsimoji saleziečių karta, tapatindama religijos laisvę ir Tėvynės nepriklausomybę, apie save telkė jaunimą ir visuomenę, pasirinkdama tuo metu prieinamą pastoracinį darbą, blaivybės platinimą ir kt. Atkūrus Lietuvos Respubliką nedelsiant įregistruota Saleziečių kongregacija, ji ėmėsi ugdyti vaikų ir jaunimo kūrybingumą, jų meninius ir sportinis sugebėjimus, pilietiškumą ir tautiškumą, atidarė socialiai remtinų bei turinčių psichinę negalią oratorijas, dienos centrus ir vasaros stovyklas.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Vienuolijų veikla; 20 amžius; Saleziečiai; Activities of religious orders; XX century Lithuania; Salesians of Don Bosco.

ENThe article analyzes the activities of monks and nuns of the Salesian congregation in Lithuania in the 20th and the 21st centuries. It is stressed that, when working both in Lithuania and in missions in other nations, Lithuanian Salesians dug deep into the local cultures and took care of the socio-cultural needs of the society, especially the youth. After the WWI the Salesians spread the ideas of Don Bosco in the Republic of Lithuania through the press and within their communities. In 1931, after they received the permission from Kaunas archbishop to found a Salesian province, act and launch schools, they attempted to draw the poor urban and rural youth away from the social confrontations, which were increasing throughout Europe and spread the idea of social solidarity. In 1939, after the poly-ethnical Vilnius area was returned to Lithuania, the Lithuanian Salesians started their attempts to balance the national relations of the pro-Polish multinational youth, which fell into their influence area, in favour of Lithuania. During WWII they provided Christian assistance to refugee Polish Salesians and rescued Jews from the genocide. The Soviet Regime destroyed the congregation. The new generation of the future Salesians, identifying the freedom of religion with the independence of their motherland, amassed the society and the youth by getting involved into pastoral activities, promotion of temperance, etc.. Upon reinstatement of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania, the Salesian congregation was registered, which undertook to nurture the creativity of children and youth, their artistic and sports abilities, their public and national spirit, opened the oratorios, daycare centers and summer camps for socially supported persons and those with psychical illness.
