Summary / Abstract:

ENEmployees of different generations have different perceptions of the ongoing changes in the labor market initiated by technological progress. This article attempts to combine organizational factors with the current phenomenon of burnout observed in the labor market. Mastering technological solutions would reduce the likelihood of burnout, while reducing generational differences. A quantitative survey was conducted in Lithuania with 454 employees representing Generations X, Y, and Z. The results suggest that burnout in contemporary workplaces may be influenced more strongly by individual values, personal resources, and life contexts than by structural conditions alone. Promoting individuality, it is important to develop employees' digital competencies, which will enable them to create higher added value. Organizational structure factors, although important in a large part of cases, do not play a significant role in the prevention of burnout. Keywords: different generations, burnout, organizational factors, social sustainability.
